Ingredients
5 Large Potatoes
500g of Ground Beef
1 Teaspoon of Salt
1 Generous Pinch of Black Pepper
1 Teaspoon of Sweet Paprika
1 Teaspoon of Dried Garlic Flakes
100g of Breadcrumbs
1 Egg
½ Onion
Parsley to Taste
200ml of Tomato Sauce
2 Tablespoons of Unsalted Butter
200g of Grated Mozzarella Cheese
How to prepare
Start by cutting the potatoes into smaller pieces and transfer them to a saucepan, add enough water to cover them, bring them to a boil over medium heat, cover the saucepan and let them cook for 15 minutes.
In a bowl, add the ground beef, the salt, the black pepper, the sweet paprika, the dried garlic flakes, the breadcrumbs, the egg, the onion chopped into small cubes and parsley to taste, mix all the ingredients together very well until combined.
Now, get portions of the meat, about one tablespoon each, and shape them into balls.
Coat all these meatballs in wheat flour, breading them well.
In a large skillet over medium-low heat, add enough vegetable oil to cover its bottom.
Fry the meatballs until golden brown.
Add the tomato sauce, stir and set aside.
Once the potatoes have cooked through, drain all the water and transfer them to a bowl, add the unsalted butter, one teaspoon of salt, one pinch of black pepper and mash them until a smooth mixture forms.
Transfer all these mashed potatoes to a medium baking dish and spread until flat.
Add the meatballs, top them with the grated mozzarella cheese.
Take to a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) and bake for 20 minutes.
Serve.
